Alessandria della Rocca is a city on Sicily in the
Province of Agrigento. It has 3787 citizens and spreads over a area of61 qkm.
In 1570 Lord Don Carlo Blasco Barresi founded the little town Alessandria della Rocca on the Monti Sicani, situated about 50 km northern of Agrigento. However, the history of colonisation goes much further. So still today, the Sican necropolises of Gruttiddri and Lurdicheddra can be visited, which prove a settlement already in the New Stone Age. The main income source of the town is agriculture. In Alessandria della Rocca the 17th century parish church, which is dedicated to Maria del Pilar, is worthwhile to see.
