Holiday Home Melo in Calatabiano in Sicily

The holiday home Melo is located in the house of our uncle Carmelo Cannavó in the village Calatabiano. The holiday home stretches over the whole upper floor of the two storeyed house and from the big terrace you have a fantastic view over the mountains. On one side of the terrace you can see up to the sea, a blue strip o the horizon, on the opposing side you see Taormina.

Calatabiano is a small Sicilian village, lying in a picturesque landscape at the foot of the Peloritan mountains. Shopping facilities and a restaurant are available in the village. Remarkable above all is the central position of Calatabiano: just a few kilometres to the dreamlike beach in Giardini Naxos, the Parco del Etna is near; Taormina, probably the most popular holiday resort on Sicily, is just seven kilometres away and destinations like Messina and the north coast with possibilities to ferry across to the volcano island Stromboli are close either. What does the rent cost?

In the low season from October until the end of March: 395,- Euro per week
In the busy season from April until the end of June: 440,- Euro per week
In the high season from July until the end of September: 490,- Euro per week

Electricity and water as well as bedclothes and towels are included already in the rental price.

The least period to rent the holiday home is one week. The holiday home is available from 12 o’clock a.m. on the day of arrival and it has to be free again on the day of departure at 10 o’clock a.m. the latest, so that the holiday home can be prepared for the next tenant. As a little security for us you have to lodge a deposit of 150,- Euro at the hand-over of keys which you get paid back at the end of the rental period.

How is the holiday home furnished?

In the holiday home there are four beds: Two bedrooms with two beds each, arranged as double beds. Further there is a very spacious kitchen living with a TV, the kitchen is fully equipped (hearth, refrigerator, plates and cutlery etc.). The bathroom has a shower, a bidet and a washing machine is also available. The highlight nevertheless is the roof-deck on which you can make yourself comfortable; tables and chairs as well as some deck-chairs invite you to a sunbath. From her you have a fantastic view on the Etna and a very beautiful look over the garden in which not just a diversity of exotic plants are growing, but where also some of my uncle’s pets have found a living space; in front of the house for example stands a big aquarium in which colourful fishes are swimming and in the little pond some snapping turtles are cavorting. From the terrace you can also see the sea as a little blue strip on the horizon.

You can comfortably park your car in the driveway to the house and you also get an electric door opener.

The holiday home offers space for up to four persons. The holiday home is about 90m_ big and freshly redecorated. It has a separate entrance. The apartment has central heating and you can also rent it in winter.
