Bagheria lies about 14km east of Palermo at the sea and near the mountain Catalfano. The small town used to be the domicile of the old noblemen in Palermo (17th/18th century). This also explains the great number of marvellous buildings here. However, time has left its traces on many of them. The town is surrounded by very fertile land; wine, olives and medlars are grown here.
