Vacation cottage Maria in Calatabiano near Taormina on Sicily

Our holiday home, which you can rent, is situated in the village of Calatabiano, surrounded by olive and lemon groves. Calatabiano is a small Sicilian village which lies in a beautiful wild landscape, the Peloritan mountains towering over it. From the cottage you have a gorgeous view of the mountains’ buttress. A restaurant and shops can be found in the village.

One of the features that makes Calatabiano such an attractive holiday destination is its central position, just a few kilometres from the heavenly beaches in Giardini Naxos, the Parco del Etna is close by and it is just 7 kilometres to Taormina, probably the most popular holiday resort in Sicily. Destinations like Messina and the northern coast, from which one can reach the volcanic island Stromboli, are also not far off.
Calatabiano is the ideal starting point to explore Sicily and to send wonderful days away from it all.

How much is the rent?

Off season from October to March: 330,- Euro a week
Main season from April to September: 390,- Euro a week

The minimum period the house can be rented for is one week. The house is available on the Saturday of arrival from 12.00 onwards and must be vacated on the departure day by 10.00., so that the cleaners can prepare it for the next tenants. So that we have a little security we will ask for a deposit of 150,- Euros upon handing out the keys. This deposit is fully refundable upon the end of your stay. Water and electricity are already included in the rent.

How is the house furnished?

The house is kept in a plain, but charming Sicilian style, housing a maximum of four sleepers. There is a master bedroom with a double bed and a further chamber with two single beds. In addition there are a sitting room, a kitchen and a bathroom with a shower. Outside you will find a porch (roofed veranda), a big terrace and the garden (when the olive and lemon trees bear fruit you can of course taste them too). You can park your can in the drive leading to the house.

Our suggestion: The home is ideally suited for two. It will house four, but the comfort is definitely higher if there are only two of you. We are letting the house at such a low rate, because it is a few years old. All in all, one can make oneself homely here!
