Motta Saint’ Anastasia is a small town east of Catania. Worth a visit is the Norman castle which is situated a bit raised so that you can enjoy a beautiful view over the surrounding land from here. Regularly in summer, a little medieval festival takes place here in the Norman castle and around it. This celebration mostly starts in the evenings and lasts for some days. During these days the castle is decorated with colourful pennants, jugglers wander about on the market square, knights show their skills in sword plays and bargainers offer their goods. Besides, you can buy tasty food and wine, of course. Every fourth year the celebration is organised in bigger style.
