Agira is located in the middle of the island and belongs to the province Enna. It is a very old city and its history is dating back to the prehistoric times: the Sikuli already established a settlement here. In the times of the Greek Agira was governed by the tyrant named Agyris, which was beside the Tyrannen Dionysos, one of the most powerful rulers of the island. In the town you will find a lot of buildings in baroque style.
